Before starting Trinity Family Builders Colby Franks was most recently the Executive Vice President of Hanover Family Builders, a company he founded with the Orosz family in 2017. A third-generation builder, Colby is a Certified General Contract in the state of Florida. Among the many hats he wore at the company, Colby developed new product lines, was tasked with hiring all operational staff and oversees all purchasing, permitting, construction and warranty.

But what truly sets Colby apart is that he’s not just building homes. Colby has a proven history of building successful businesses.

“I am truly passionate about the entire production homebuilding process and feel like it is something I was called to do,” Colby said. “It’s very rewarding to drive through the new-home communities throughout Central Florida to see the 8,000-plus homes I have built over my nearly 30-year career.”

Before starting Hanover Family Builders, Colby and the Orosz family formed Royal Oaks Homes in 2010 where he once again took a start up from producing zero units to closing more than 300 homes in just three years. At ROH, Colby opened a Design Center, hired a vendor base, and worked closely with the accounting team to review and select home building software.

Colby graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction in 1993. Soon after, he took a job at Engle Homes, where he quickly rose in the ranks from assistant builder to production manager to eventually VP of Operation. While at Engle, Colby was able to take the company from producing just 200 units to more than 1,000, a forecast of the successful career on which he was embarking.

Colby has been married to his wife Sandy since 1999; he has two adult children and two Golden Retrievers and lives in Winter Park. When not at work, he and his family enjoy golf, the beach and Florida Gators Football.
